"Bolt-on" Structures

Mar-key
Marquees have great pleasure in once again announcing
the introduction of an innovative and market leading
product, the “Bolt On” structure. These “Bolt On”
structures are linked to existing trading floors and
buildings by use of a heavy duty aluminium sealed frame
anchored to both the ground and main building.
Natural light is enhanced by the use of a 20%
translucent roof system, with the structure maintaining
relative ambient air temperature by the inclusion of
adjustable roof mounted air vents. Kingspan panels
have been utilised so as to provide opaque walling with
this premier specialist structure being given a regal
finish by the inclusion of tinted laminated glass
windows. The “Bolt On” provides an aesthetic,
practical and cost-effective alternative, when directly
compared to that of traditional building methods.
David Tabb, Managing Director, and Ben Scroggie,
Logistics Director of Mar-key Marquees, were
instrumental in ensuring that from the outset the design
met the requirements of functionality, practicality,
cost effectiveness and the client's objectives.
The 9 month project successfully concluded with the
first “Bolt On” structure being built in July 2006 at
the Good Mayes Tesco Store, in Romford, Essex, by Gordon
Grierson and his crew. Consequently, a further
twenty have been planned nationwide thus inexpensively
adding an entire new revenue stream for each site without
closing for redevelopment.
It
is amazing how solid and "permanent" today's steel-framed
temporary buildings can be. Solid sides, glazed
walls and secure roofs (as well as good looks)
combine to make it totally viable to add extra
semi-permanent facilities to your premises; the
extra advantage being, you can add more, remove it or
change the layout at short notice. Many
organisations, especially in the retail sector are now
choosing to extend customer facilities in this way.
